Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Union County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, ordinary server and analytics systems may collect technical details about the visit:
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
- Page-view dates and times
- A referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a visitor's device. They and analytics services help show traffic patterns, such as which pages are used most and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.

- Diagnose errors and other technical faults
- Measure which material visitors use and where improvement is needed
- Operate, secure, and improve page performance
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Union County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to official holders, including the Union County Sheriff's Office, New Mexico courts, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Records Bureau, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A query submitted through one of them is governed by that company's privacy policy. The provider, not this site, sets its retention and disclosure rules. Read those terms before entering a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the sheriff, New Mexico court portals, public agencies, legal-aid resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows such a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That tracking takes place through the provider's systems and policies.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be received by a limited set of service providers or authorities:
- Analytics services that measure visits and performance
- Outside search providers that process a submitted query
- Advertising networks that place content on pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information collected by the site. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so the possibility of unauthorized access or a breach cannot be eliminated.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted when required and reasonably verified.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may grant rights over personal data. New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978 §14-2-1 et seq., and Arrest Record Information Act provision, NMSA 1978 §29-10-6, govern access to official government records and personal arrest-record inspection. They do not turn this private site into the government custodian. Subject to the law that applies, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal information held about that visitor
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Seek deletion when the controlling law permits it
- Object to or opt out of eligible forms of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version will be posted here and identified by a new effective date, so visitors should review it from time to time.
